EACH FAMILY is an amazingly complex, precious and vulnerable system of relationships. The family system is a coherent unit and functions as a unit either healthily or dysfunctional. When the system is healthy, happiness, creativity, growth and love is stimulated. When the system does not function healthily, everyone is affected and everyone is hurting, children as well as parents.
The task of bringing up children in the complex society of today faces numerous challenges, maybe like never before. Being the leaders of the family system and the role models for their children, parents shape the behaviors, attitudes and habits of their children not only by what they say, but (especially) what they practice.
This simple fact places a huge responsibility on the parents. In order to cope effectively with all the challenges of parenthood, parents must communicate. By communication we do not just imply what is being said verbally, but just as much what is being said indirectly or simply left unsaid. It is easy to understand, that the quality of the communication between the parents sets the stage for the quality of functioning of the entire family.
INTEGRATIVE FAMILY COUNSELING is based on the understanding, that parents will always be closer to their kids than the counselor can ever be. Parents can better than anybody facilitate healing and healthy growth in their own kids.
Hence INTEGRATIVE FAMILY COUNSELING finds it can achieve the best and fastest results when addressing family problems through the parents. Parents must have tools and support to develop their own relationship and quality of communication.
This approach naturally affects the entire family system and each of its members in the most powerful way, providing symptomatic relief, healing and increased quality of life for everybody.
*
Once the parents can communicate and problem-solve with each other, they will be able to do so efficiently with every other member of the family, thus providing the best possible security net for the integrity and psychological health of the family.
If parents cannot communicate or problem-solve with each other, they will create problems in the kids group. Sending the children of to the mental health professional, will not solve these problems.
*
INTEGRATIVE FAMILY COUNSELING accomplishes the desired results through a combination of the following:
1) marital counseling and enrichment (also applicable to single parents in a revised version)
2) psychological education
3) parental training
4) individual counseling, as needed
5) group sessions with entire family, whenever indicated
Each family is very different from every other family. Hence the intervention is always “tailor-made” to fit the particular needs and conditions of each individual family.

INTEGRATIVE FAMILY COUNSELING focuses on the here-and-now. It is short tem, solutions oriented and cost-efficient. It is based on over 26 years of professional experience.
